Pomplamoose Music

February 24, 2010

Pomplamoose Music is a band that I found on Youtube comprised of Nataly Dawn, and Jack Conte.

Nataly and Jack

These two create what they have deemed Video Songs, and according to them, a video song is:
” A new Medium with two rules:

1. What you see is what you hear (no lip-syncing for instruments or voice).
2. If you hear it, at some point you see it (no hidden sounds).”

So basically they make REAL music videos, where they film themselves singing all the different parts, and playing all the different instruments. Its really very interesting. They both have awesome voices too and both play instruments, although in the Pomplamoose collab Nataly does most of the singing and Jack most of the instrument playing.
They do a combination of their own songs:

And covers of songs:

Oh yeah, and Nataly speaks french. If I am not mistaken she was studying French in school.

I love listening to Nataly sing, she has such a soft, smooth voice. Sometimes it can be eery, but in a good way,(if thats possible). And Jack seems to be a genius with instruments and just sounds in general, the things that I have seem him use as instruments are amazing – polaroid camera, his cheeks, mini pianos and more! Whats most important about these two is that they seem to really enjoy what they are doing, and I think it is rare to find a band that writes all their own songs, plays all of their own instruments, and loves it.

Pomplamoose is available on iTunes, and I would really suggest checking their songs out and buying their album. I bought it a while ago and I listen to it alllll the time!

Besides that, Jack and Nataly each have their own youtube channels, check the links below:
